A full sibling to the 2000 Tom Quilty Gold Cup Winner Crystal Flyer (exported UAE now known as Yamama) & 2011 Tom Quilty Gold Cup Winner Kurrajong Concorde (owned by Castlebar).

Castlebar Gulfstream's first race in open company was the 108km at Tonimbuk August 2008.

On the 6th December 2009 the Final of the Young Horse Series (YHS) was held in conjunction with the Upper Murray Challenge FEI 2** 120km event at Walwa in Victoria. Of the 23 horses qualified to compete in the YHS, Castlebar Gulfstream came 2nd by 5 minutes to another Castlebar bred horse Castlebar Moonlight, who was also the overall winner of the race.

Hi oldest progeny are now competing in endurance and he is standing at stud for the 2011-12 breeding season.

Castlebar Gulfstream was the winner of the Australian FEI 2* Championships held in September 2010 and was also awarded the Best Conditioned Award the following day
