Meg Wade:

Meg Wade is not only a world class Endurance competitor, she is also a breeder of great Endurance Horses. Meg has completed 69
one-day 160km competitions and won 25 of these.
She has been Australian Rider of the Year10 times, has 3 team bronze medals at World Championships. Meg was individual 4th riding Castlebar Treaty at the 2002 World Championships in Jerez, SPAIN.
Meg has won the Australian National Championships the Tom Quilty Gold Cup - 4 times in 2000, 2001, 2003 & 2008.

In April 2009 at the Tumbarumba FEI ride Meg came off her horse and suffered a severe Traumatic Brain Injury. She was airlifted to Canberra Hospital. She was moved to Epworth Hospital in Melbourne on the 25th May, she stayed there until February 2010.

In 2011 she was awarded the Against All Odds award by the FEI.

Meg is back slowly riding, her favourite horse is Actress, an Anglo by KPK Blue.

She completed a 20km Introductory ride on Actress at Coolamon, NSW on the 20th July 2013.

As she says "It's a long rocky road but at least I am on it!"

Chris Gates

Chris Gates:

Born in Nyngan, central NSW. His parents ran a large sheep farm there. Chris went to school in Sydney and continued his studies at Sydney University - Engineering.
Started Endurance in the early 1980's. A successful Endurance rider who now prefers to manage from the sidelines. He is the brains behind the development and management of the Castlebar farms.
Chris is an avid reader and sporting shooter

1999 - Diploma in Horse Business Management at Marcus Oldham College in Geelong.
Worked at "Widden Stud" in the Hunter Valley, "Kildangan Stud" in Ireland and "The Oaks" in NZ - different positions including yearling & brood mare manager with Thoroughbreds.

Competes and breeds her own stock horses in team penning, showing and camp-drafting.

Tahlia Berg

Lives in Tallangatta Valley.

Has a Bachelor of Animal Science from Charles Sturt University at Wagga Wagga.

Has an AI certificate for horses and cattle..

Linda Tanian
Competition rider
Born in Gippsland - Victoria, and has been competing in endurance since 1988.

Commenced riding for Castlebar in 2004. Since riding for Castlebar she has completed over 9,000km.

Linda won the inaugural 2009 Young Horse Championships on Castlebar Moonlight.

Has competed in the South African National Championships at Fauresmith and also in the Trans Tasman Challenge at Ruahine in New Zealand.
